U.S. Open

The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts will host the 122nd U.S. Open, which starts Thursday and concludes Sunday. This will be the fourth time the major is hosted at one of the oldest golf courses in the U.S.  The U.S. Open field is composed of 156 players, including those atop the Official World Golf Ranking and other recent major winners and top-10 finishers. Tiger Woods will not play in the U.S. Open, saying his “body needs more time to get stronger for major championship golf. Jon Rahm won the tournament last year at Torrey Pines in San Diego, becoming the first U.S. Open champion from Spain. The reigning champion will try to be the eighth golfer ever to win back-to-back U.S. Open titles, which was last done in 2017 and 2018 by Brooks Koepka. The betting favorite to win in Brookline is Rory McIlroy, who won in 2011.
